The bottom line: Depending on the audience, a comprehensive guidebook to assist the unsure into Christian ministry.
If you are considering, or feel compelled, to pursue vocational ministry, Sorting It Out will hold your hand and walk you through the whole process. It answers all the basic questions and presents clear solutions to the doubts a person may have. The book defines a “call”, describes the different arenas one may be called to, and also provides a blueprint for action for those who want to pursue further.
I believe those who will (or intend) to serve in any type of Christian ministry would be satisfied with this book. The text is scripturally sound, and provides definition and clarity on the subject matter.
However, I also found that much of the advice is common sense. If you are someone outside of the church, or do not have a basic understanding of what a “call to ministry” is, then I would highly recommend this book to you and give it five stars. If, however, you have some sort of a background in the church and have already invested significant time, prayer, and consideration to your calling, then this book may not provide much more additional insight.
